Oceania
An incredibly diverse winemaking zone, Oceania deals in extremes. New Zealand makes focused, Ocean-influenced wines in the world’s southernmost winemaking regions. While Australia cooks under the sun, making rich extracted wines from some of the oldest Shiraz and Grenache vines in the world. What makes these regions most exciting is what you don’t often see here in the US – small producers growing grapes in an ethical way, making gorgeous wines from varietals you might not expect to see growing (let alone flourishing) in their extreme conditions.
