After spending a decade as the chief wine editor for the San Fransisco Chronicle Jon Bonné broke out on his own, working to build relationships with vigneron and share the stories of the wines he loves.

Jon spent 8(!) years researching while working on The New French Wine, a gorgeous two volume book. Wherein he shares the story of how the contemporary French wine scene has evolved, highlighting the 800 vigneron and the wines they painstakingly grow. 

One volume focuses entirely on the evolution of French wine as a whole, talking about what 'Wine' means in the context of France's winemaking tradition and where Jon sees that meaning shifting towards. The other operates as an encyclopedic reference guide, highlighting 800 winemakers and over 7000 bottlings which they produce.
