    Bordeaux, France

    85% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Carmenère

In continuous operation by the Amoreau family since 1610, Le Puy is now on their 15th generation of winemakers, each generation passing down their family expertise to the next for over 400 years. The very existence of Château Le Puy almost defies belief. In, of all places, Bordeaux - a region that fell especially hard for the oak-and-muscles approach favored by certain critics and point-chasers over the past few decades - there exists a sizable and historic estate that is making wines true to this region’s all too often abused terroir.

Their wine is the ultimate homage to the beauty that comes from a balance between humans and nature, refusing to use chemical products in their winemaking, and respecting everything from the plants and animals down to the micro-organisms present in their estate. In bottling, they use a little intervention as possible, bringing you what is possibly the closest look you can get into the old world of Bordeaux wine making that has been forgotten by so many other producers in the region.

Their Emilien Rouge is their quintessential offering,  and their main-production wine. There is a harmony of elements - a weaving together of acid, fruit, tannin, mineral and earth - that is spellbinding. Expect to find a succulence of sappy red fruit as well as a driving, tunneling palate of remarkable energy.
